Technology Requirements
In order to fully and successfully participate in Triple Crown Academy’s online courses, our students must meet certain technology requirements.
FOR BOTH ONLINE PROGRAMS:
- E-mail address
- Access to the Internet (dial-up modem will not work well with our courses)
- Internet Explorer web browser, version 6 or higher
- Adobe reader: Download for free the latest version
- Flash Player: Download for free the latest version
- Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Powerpoint (versions must be 1997 or later)
- Printer (if downloadable copies of handouts are desired by student)
If you don’t have access to a computer or a highspeed Internet connection, there are a variety of options you may look into, including using computers at your local public library. Also, some FedEx Kinkos stores have rental computer stations that you may pay for use. You might also look in your community to see if there are any businesses that rent computers. Many retail stores (including some Fedex Kinkos, Borders, Barnes and Noble, Starbucks, etc.) offer WiFi high speed Internet access. Check your local retail stores to see what is available for your needs, if offered.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS FOR “PET OBEDIENCE INSTRUCTOR: THEORY AND APPLICATION OF CANINE BEHAVIOR:
- Own or have access to a video camcorder for recording "hands on" assignments, and a friend or family member to record your work.
- Own or borrow a dog that is “green” to fairly “green”; that is, it has had no training beyond basic obedience.
It is the distance education student’s responsibility to insure that the technology requirements listed above are met. Failure to do so may cause a less than adequate learning experience.
